What this site is

A free, independently published reference about visiting Stockholm. It is not a travel agency, tour operator or booking agent. Nothing here constitutes a contract to supply travel services, and no reservation of any kind can be made through this site.

Accuracy, and its limits

Guides are researched against primary sources and revised when things change, but Stockholm does not hold still. Ferry timetables to the archipelago change between summer and winter schedules and again outside the main season. Museum opening hours shift with public holidays. Restaurants close. Prices in kronor move, and the exchange rate against your own currency moves independently of them.

So: confirm anything your trip depends on with the operator before you rely on it. Check the sailing with the ferry company, the opening hours with the museum, and the price with whoever is charging it. Information here is provided without warranty of accuracy or completeness, and we are not liable for loss arising from a decision made on the basis of a page here rather than a primary source.

Not professional advice

Nothing on this site is legal, medical, financial or immigration advice. Entry requirements for Sweden depend on your nationality and change; check with the Swedish Migration Agency and your own government’s travel advice. Travel insurance, health cover and currency decisions are yours to make with proper advice.

Your own safety

Some activities described here — kayaking in the archipelago, winter walking, swimming, cycling, being out in the dark for much of a December day — carry real risk. Descriptions of them are not an assessment of whether they are safe for you, on the day, in the conditions you find. Use your own judgement, heed local warnings, and go with a qualified operator where that is the sensible course. In an emergency in Sweden, dial 112.

The text of the guides is the property of Stockholm Tourism Guide. You are welcome to read it, print it for your own trip, and share links to it. You may quote a short extract with clear attribution and a link back. Republishing whole guides, or using them to train or populate another site, is not permitted.

Photographs are licensed stock images used under their respective licences and are not ours to sub-license to you.

Guides link out to operators, museums and official sources so you can verify things and book directly. Those sites are not under our control; their content and their privacy practices are their own responsibility, not ours.

Acceptable use

  • Do not scrape or bulk-copy the site, or use automated tools that degrade it for other readers.
  • Do not attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site or its hosting.
